5 Things You Need to Know About the Eisenhower Marathon
“A great small-town race. Well-stocked stations every mile, friendly volunteers, beautiful course, and lots to do in town after the race is over. Would definitely return to do this race again.” - Justin Moss
The Eisenhower Marathon is back in 2021! Join runners from across the country on Saturday, May 1 to run through the same territory cattlemen followed when bringing their herds to Abilene on the Chisholm Trail in the 1800s.
Here are 5 things you need to know about the Eisenhower Marathon:
1. Yes, it's happening. For real. No joke. There WILL be a race.
In a time when many races are canceled, rest assured the 2021 Eisenhower Marathon will go on. Join us for the 2021 Eisenhower Marathon on Saturday, May 1. The Full and Half-Marathons start at 7 am and the 10K and 5K will start at 7:10 am and 7:15 am, respectively.

2. It's mostly flat.
They say Kansas is as flat as a pancake, which is what makes this race so special. Many runners obtain a personal record on this mostly flat course. The race has one out and back and is on a solid, pavement surface. Bonus: it's also a Boston Marathon Qualifying Race!
3. Rates will not go up.
Worried about registering too far in advance? We have you covered! Race fees will not go up. The price you pay to register for the Marathon is the same today as it will be in two weeks. So don't fret, you have time to decide. However, we encourage you to register by April 1 to guarantee your race shirt.
4. Proper pacing prevents poor performance.
SmartPacers are an all-star team of seasoned runners, specially trained to help you meet your goal. Line up with one of our free teams at the start and we will do our best to guide you to the finish on time, with a proven SmartPace strategy, good clock management, inspiration, coaching, and a lot of fun.
