Howdy folks, and welcome!  We’re mighty glad you’re here,

We’re so pleased you’re visiting Kansas to learn about this year.

“Kansas:  To The Stars” is a phrase we like to say,

From star-gazing to a five-star general, we’re in his hometown today.

Abilene is a wonderful community to represent our state.

From rodeos to a President, there’s lots to celebrate.

Abilene was the very first to be claimed as a cattle town,

When Wild Bill Hickock roamed the streets and faced the bad guys down.

Years later, this wonderful town would raise a general and President.

Now a museum and home still stand where his boyhood years were spent.

That’s what you’ll find in Kansas.  It’s part of our success:

Good food, history, hospitality, and small town friendliness.
