Save-The-Date-Events-Abilene,KSSchool is back in session, and temperatures are approaching more bearable degrees, so it's time to look at your calendar and plan out the remaining twenty weekends of the year. Yes, twenty. That's all!

1. Chisholm Trail Days - Friday, September 2 & Saturday, September 3

Old-Abilene-Town-Alamo-Saloon-Abilene,KSCelebrate the historic cattle trail at the end of the Chisholm Trail during Chisholm Trail Days at Old Abilene Town.

2. Oktoberfest - Saturday, September 17

Oktoberfest-Abilene,KSAbilene Oktoberfest is excited for its 5th annual Oktoberfest held in Downtown Abilene. Enjoy German Dancers, music, authentic German food and rinks. This year we will have three beer gardens and multiple food vendors, Masskrugstemmen, Hammerschlagen, a cornhole tournament and a kids' korner featuring bouncy houses, outdoor games, face painting, and more. Come early and shop local!

3. Heritage Days - Friday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1

Dickinson-County-Heritage-Center-Abilene,KSThe annual Heritage Day Festival features living history with blacksmith and antique agriculture demonstrations, steam engine carousel rides, an antique tractor show, a classic car show, model trains, and much more.

4. Wild West Gravel Fest - Saturday, October 8

west_west_gravel_fest.jpgWild West Gravel Fest is a gravel bike race in Dickinson County, KS. The 50-mile distance allows racers that are new to gravel to get their feet wet (dirty!) The 125-mile race will take racers on an epic ride through this beautiful county.

5. Cowtown Christmas - Saturday, December 3 & Sunday, December 4
