Christmas Tree Lane, An Annual Tradition

For more than fifty years, Abilene’s Public Works Department has cut and installed cedar trees in yards along Buckeye Ave and Northwest Third Street.

Residents and businesses are then encouraged to decorate the more than 200 trees for passersby to enjoy.

“Christmas Tree Lane is one of the great attributes that make Abilene, Abilene,” said Julie Roller Weeks, Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau director. “When people visit, they frequently comment about the tree-lined streets and enjoy seeing the lights and decorations.”
