As spring approaches, Abilene is gearing up for a season full of exciting events that celebrate the community's rich culture and heritage. From quilting shows to Greyhound races, there's something for everyone to enjoy in Abilene this spring.

"The Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau is excited to welcome the return of these long-time events," said Julie Roller Weeks, Director of the Abilene CVB. "Each event is unique and attracts additional visitors to our community, allowing them to enjoy all that Abilene has to offer."

1. Sunflower Journey Quilt Show – March 23 & 24

Presented by the End of the Trail Quilters Guild, the Sunflower Journey Quilt Show is a must-visit event for quilting enthusiasts. Featuring a Merchant Mall, beautifully crafted quilts, door prizes, and even scissor sharpening services, this event promises a weekend of quilting fun. Join us on Saturday, March 26, from 9 am – 5 pm and Sunday, March 27, from Noon – 4 pm. Admission is $7, and children ten and under are free.

2. National Greyhound Association Spring Meet – April 22-26

Experience the thrill of Greyhound racing at the National Greyhound Association's Spring Meet. As the Greyhound Capital of the World, Abilene invites you to witness the world's fastest canine in action. Visit www.ngagreyhounds.com for the race schedule.

3. 21st Annual Eisenhower Marathon – April 27

Lace up your running shoes and join us for the 21st Annual Eisenhower Marathon. Featuring Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 5k, and new this year, a Full Marathon Relay, this event attracts runners from around the country. 4. 6th Annual Antique Fest – May 11

Celebrate Mother's Day weekend with a trip to Abilene's 6th Annual Antique Fest. With more than 100 vendors spread across outside booths and four antique malls, this event is a paradise for antique lovers.
