Step into Abilene’s cowboy past and celebrate its Western spirit with a stroll along the Cowboy Art Trail!

t.c._mcinerney_drovers_boot_store_The-Abilene-Weekly-Chronicle-December-7-1871.jpgThis one-of-a-kind project honors T.C. McInerney’s famous Drovers Boot Store from the 1870s, a must-stop shop for cowboys driving cattle up the Chisholm Trail. Inspired by an original 1871 advertisement, the Arts Council of Dickinson County, Quality of Life Coalition, and Community Foundation of Dickinson County partnered to bring larger-than-life cowboy boot art to the community.

Each boot tells a story, blending local heritage with creative flair. Whether you’re exploring Abilene’s historic sites or snapping photos for your travel album, the Cowboy Art Trail is a colorful way to connect with the town’s cowboy roots.
