Main Attractions
Here's a look at what you can expect at this year's Central Kansas Free Fair:
1. Central Kansas Free Fair Parade
This year's parade theme couldn't be more fitting: "Let Freedom Ring."
The annual Central Kansas Free Fair Parade takes place Tuesday, July 28 at 4 p.m., with local veterans organizations serving as the 2026 Parade Marshals.
Bring a lawn chair, find your spot along the route, and enjoy one of America's favorite small-town traditions.

2. 4-H, FFA & Fair Exhibits
Blue ribbons and county fairs have gone hand in hand for generations.
Explore exhibits showcasing the hard work, creativity, and talent of area residents, then head to the barns to see livestock raised and shown by local youth.
These traditions aren't just nostalgic. They're helping teach another generation responsibility, leadership, agriculture, and the value of a job well done.
3. Vendor Booths
Part of the fun of fair week is seeing who you'll find along the midway. Browse vendor booths featuring local businesses, organizations, handcrafted items, specialty products, and plenty of fair finds.

4. Fair Food

5. Carnival Rides

2026 Carnival Hours
Tuesday, July 28-Saturday, August 1: 5-11 p.m.
Sunday, August 2: 6-10 p.m.
Armbands
Nightly armbands are $35 per person, with a special $25 Sunday armband available Sunday only. There are no advance sales of wristbands.Individual Ride Tickets
1 ticket: $2
28 tickets: $50, a $6 savings
60 tickets: $100, a $20 savings
Tickets are sold at the gate and are good for every day of the carnival. Cash and cards are accepted at the ticket booth.
Golden Tickets for Local Kids
The Golden Ticket program is helping make sure even more kids have the opportunity to experience the magic of the fair!
Children who are eligible for free or reduced-price school lunches can receive a FREE Golden Ticket to enjoy the carnival on the night of their choice, July 28-August 2.
Golden Tickets will be distributed Saturday, July 25 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 2104 N. Buckeye Avenue, the former Green Ford Building in Abilene.
Proof of eligibility is required, and Golden Tickets are limited, so families are encouraged to arrive early.
6. Wild Bill Hickok PRCA Rodeo
It doesn't get much more Western than this.
The Wild Bill Hickok PRCA Rodeo returns July 28-31, 2026, bringing four nights of rodeo action to the Central Kansas Free Fair.
Named for legendary Old West lawman Wild Bill Hickok, who served as marshal of Abilene during its cattle town era, the rodeo celebrates another chapter of the American story with bull riding, bronc riding, barrel racing, roping, and more.

7. Demolition Derby
And what's a small-town fair without a little noise?
The Central Kansas Free Fair Demolition Derby returns Saturday, August 1 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 2 at 6:00 p.m., bringing two nights of crashing, smashing, grandstand-filling fun to close out fair week.
